The Annual Lyrid meteor shower is a major meteor shower which happens between January and mid-April. The Lyrids are active each year from around April 16 to 25. In this year, the Lyrids peak on the morning of April 22. Also, they can be seen the next morning, April 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At their peak, a sky watcher under dark, clear skies may see 10 to 15 meteors per hour falling at an average velocity of 30 miles per second. No matter where you are on Earth, the best time to watch is typically between midnight and dawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
