Jupiter and Saturn are about to appear closer to each other in almost the same direction, making a great planetary pair on the day of the solstice December 21, 2020. This can be seen as a single bright star just after the sunset in the southwest sky, which can be observed once in a lifetime. At this moment two planets will pass only 1/10th of a degree from each other. 2020 conjunction will be the closest great conjunction since July 16, 1623. This phenomenon is also called the “Christmas star” or “Bethlehem star” because it appears just a few days before Christmas.

கதிர்த்திருப்பம் நிகழும் வரும் டிசம்பர் 21, 2020 அன்று அண்ணளவாக ஒரே திசையில் வியாழன் மற்றும் சனி கிரகங்கள் வானில் நெருங்கி சிறப்பான இரட்டை கிரகங்கள் போன்ற தோற்றத்தை உண்டாக்கவுள்ளன. தனியொரு பிரகாசமான நட்சத்திரமாக தோன்றும் வாழ்நாளில் ஒருமுறையே வரும் இந்நிகழ்வை சூரிய அஸ்தமனத்திற்கு பின் தென்மேற்கு வானில் அவதானிக்கலாம். இதன்போது இரு கிரகங்களும் ஒன்றையொன்று 1/10 பாகை இடைவெளியில் கடக்கவுள்ளன. இவ்வருடத்தின் இந்த ‘பேர் இணையல்’ நிகழ்வு, ஜூலை 16, 1623 இற்குப்பின் நிகழும் மிக நெருங்கிய நிகழ்வாகும். இந்த நிகழ்வு நத்தாரிற்கு சில தினங்கள் முன் நிகழ்வதால் ‘கிறிஸ்துமஸ் நட்சத்திரம்’ அல்லது ‘பெத்லஹேம் நட்சத்திரம்’ எனவும் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது.
